One of my favorite parts of reading is rotating a character in my mind months after I finished reading it.
Nowadays, there has been a significant amount of time since I have last felt smitten by a character in book, though I still experience this in games (I really enjoy Teldryn Sero from Skyrim and Alfred from Bloodborne)
So, I want to hear your suggestions of books that made you feel a similar (either platonic or romantic) way!
No young-adult/contemporary would be preferable!
Any genre is welcome as long as it is well written

Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits by Jason Pargin. Absolutely love the characters in this one. There’s a small amount of romance in it (as in there are relations that occur), but it’s definitely not a romance.
Middlegame by Seanan McGuire. Once again, there’s a bit of romance here and there, but the majority of the book is not based on romantic relationships
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
Watchers by Dean Koontz – you will fall in love with Einstein.
A thousand splendid suns
East of Eden
These are the last 3 books where I fell in love with a character and they still come to mind to this day.
Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurty. Still think about Gus.
