I've been reading manga for years now and I think it's time i read an actual book. something set in medieval times with sorcerers/ swordsmen, the magic system doesn't have to be special/non generic, good ol fireballs work just fine. the main character being young would be a plus, though it wouldn't be a deal breaker if not. and nothing too sad/dark pls😞

as for the length of the book(s) I don't mind anything, if I like it I'll binge read it.

for people that watch anime or read manga, something like black clover would be great.

    thank you all!!

I mean, I recently finished the Hussite trilogy, I thought It was phenomenal but it’s not your average fairytale or fantasy. It’s written by the same guy who wrote the Witcher series (which are also amazing IMO)

If you want something historically medieval as fuck, but with mysterious magic rooted in folklore then it might be for you. The MC is young and stupid, but grows into himself kinda.

It can be difficult to follow, with all the names and historical references but as long as you’re a decent reader you should be fine.

    2. Tolkien is always a classic of course but if that’s not your thing maybe try The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England by Brandon Sanderson, Timeline by Michael Crichton, or Dies the Fire by S. M. Stirling (just FYI this is part of a multi generational series with sub series, it’s fantastic but just heads up).

    3. Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Has twins one is a mage one is not.

Dungeon Crawler Carl is not medieval but it is a fun adventure.
