My wife and son are avid readers. Whenever I have picked up a book I’ve read it through and through and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
As part of a resolution over the holidays I decided to read more. For bettering my vocabulary, entertainment and just slowing down and enjoying life more. I feel books are a great way to relax and escape and I’d love to get into it.
In the past I’ve read a number of factual spy accounts (Cold War) and I’ve really enjoyed them. However, I’d like to go fiction this time and find a good mystery/suspense.
Atmosphere is very important to me- dark shadowy figures, late night scenes on deserted streets under a poorly lit streetlight during a flashing rain storm. Perhaps this is why I like spy stories….
Story doesn’t need to move extremely fast as long as the plot is well developed and the author lays out the scenes masterfully.
Thank you in advance.
