Tweet cute – Emma Lord: Very cute and easy read. I especially enjoyed the restaurant and baking aspect

The dos and donuts of love – Adiba Jaigirdar: super fun light-hearted ya romance with some great Bengali rep and the baking show aspect was very entertaining

The handmaid's tale – Magaret Attwood: probably one of the most important reads in the feminist canon but her habit to never use quotation marks still drives me up the wall. Still thought it was worth having read it

Anna and the French kiss – Stephanie Perkins: I did not expect to have this much fun with a book this summer. This was the perfect read for being on vacation in Italy. The French boarding school was right up my alley as well.

The first move – Jenny Ireland: amazing juvenile arthritis rep so reading it was super worth it for that aspect. The romance itself feels a bit underdeveloped but all in all fine

Der zerbrochene Krug – Heinrich v. Kleist: surprisingly enjoyable set text for my lit class

Henna wars – Adiba Jaigirdar: she is probably one of my favourite YA romance authors. She writes fluff and the romances don't feel very original but I eat it up every time what can I say?

Kisses and croissants – Sophie Jouanneau: the ballet aspect was very fun (also I am sucker for boarding schools or camp settings!) The romance itself feels once again undercooked. The ending felt unnecessary but all in all enjoyable

A kind of spark – Elle McNicoll: my only middle grade but as an autistic adult this was such a beautifully healing experience

À mains nues – Leila Slimani: fantastic feminist graphic novel and the pictures were stunning!

The reappearance of rachel price – Holly Jackson: I really wanted this to be agggtm again but it wasn't. I enjoyed the mystery but had it figured out quite quickly (aside from one detail). Also the mc was one of the most annoying people I have ever read about.

XOXO – Axie Oh: this was sweet. I am not as deep in the kpop sphere but I liked Jennie and the boarding school aspect was fun

Check & Mate – Ali Hazelwood: I was positively surprised how much I liked this. The characters are never particularly recognisable but I enjoyed the chess theme which was done with a surprising amount of accuracy

Vergissmeinnicht was man bei Licht nicht sehen kann – Kerstin Gier: a nostalgic author for me. The book was great, I loved the love story and while the magic system doesn't reinvent the wheel it's fun and engaging.
