Hello! Can anybody suggest to me stories about tiny people surviving in otherwise normal-scale environments, competing against each other and against other creatures for resources?

This idea has been in the back of my mind for some time now, something like the setting of the Borrowers but developed upon in a darker style. Some possible elements that come to mind include:

-Hunting and gathering, maybe miniature agriculture or even fungiculture

-Traditional herbalism and/or craftsmanship (some limited gearpunk gadgetry might be good too so long as it doesn’t break the setting too much)

-Poverty, starvation and famine food experimentation(such as entomophagy)

-The importance of finding shelter and the danger of exposure

-Fights for survival against common animals, cats being the most obvious example but also rodents and snakes and some birds

-The human need for society struggling against the harshness of survival

    Etc…

I feel like such a story must have been written already somewhere, but when I search for books about tiny people, the results I get are all of the fantastic variety, such as Tinker Bell or Fraerings…

If anybody can give me a suggestion I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
