hello everyone! as the title suggests, i’m looking for books that are usually assigned reading in school. for some reason, most schools and classes i was in had teachers “trying to do something new” so i never got a chance to read many classics as a student from K-12 in favour of newer books.

i only recently realized how bizarre this was when the only classic readings i could recall reading in school were “of mice and men”, “fahrenheit 451”, “twelfth night”, “romeo and juliet”, “lord of the flies”, and “to kill a mockingbird”. of course, there may be more that i simply can’t recall right now.

the drama surrounding the odyssey recently actually inspired me to write this since i realized i somehow hadn’t read it until now. so please give me your recommendations! also if you have any tips/resources i could use to think about these books critically i would love to hear them as i will not able to discuss this with a teacher or classmates, but still want to stimulate a similar learning environment.
