HiiiI! I know that this is super specific, but I have a dear friend that just got diagnosed with cancer who loves horror novels. He is going to be starting chemo soon and I wanted to get him some books to read during it. So many horror novels deal with the horrors of real life too and I obviously can't screen all the books for mentions of cancer. I'm hoping that I could get some suggestions for some really good horror novels that won't bring up cancer. To help a bit, he really enjoyed "Tender is the Flesh" and would probably like "The Hellbound Heart" (is there cancer in that?).
Thanks for any suggestions you're willing to give!

The Troop by Nick Cutter!
Don’t have any recs, but you can check out trigger warnings for books on thestorygraph. The warnings are user submitted, but they’re usually pretty thorough if the book is at least semi popular
I enjoyed The Call by Peader OGuilin. I don’t recall any mention of cancer.
