I’m traveling to Spain in September, and want to read something set there before I go. Really looking for something that takes place in the Spanish Golden Age. Can be suspense, romance, adventure, etc. I enjoy a wide range of genres. I also really enjoy Arturo Perez – Reverte so I wouldn’t mind something modern day if the subject matter is historical. Thank you!

Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruíz Zafón is a good one! It takes place in Barcelona in 1945– it’s a little bit of everything, though the main plot point is a mystery having to deal with an antique book dealer tracking down an author. I really enjoyed it.
