Looking for books that conjure up the same vibe and atmosphere as the game Myst.

I loved Myst and other first person adventure games from the 90s. Myst had this cool atmosphere of mystery and isolation in a new and unfamiliar environment where things were slowly revealed through exploration and puzzle solving. If you have played the game you might know what I mean. Thanks in advance for any recommendations you might have.
