I'm trying to read more non-fiction this year and would like to read some history books, but obviously that's a huge genre and I don't really know where to start, so I'm curious to hear your recommendations. I don't have any particular era in mind. Thanks!

I’ve been going through Henry V lately and it’s a pretty interesting story about king Henry V life. I’m not even to the part where he is king yet.
It’s new and written in a way that puts you there by using phrasing that is more so as it is happening rather than it happened… if that makes sense.
For example “at the battle, Henry does this” vs “at the battle Henry did that”
