    Hi! English isn’t my first language, and I’m trying to get better at it. I thought a good way to improve would be by reading books in English. When I was younger, I used to love horror books, but now I’m looking for something more classic. Any recommendations?

    1. This is a very vague post. What does “something more classic” mean? Can you edit a little for specification (I understand you said English is not your first language).

      If not, I’ll still try and give some suggestion:

      * Easy to read Hemingway, esp:
      * Sun Also Rises
      * Farewell to Arms
      * The Old Man and the Sea (very short book)
      * Isak Dinesen
      * Seven Gothic Tales
      * Out of Africa
      * Rudyard Kipling
      * The Jungle Book
      * Just So Stories
      * A good translation of “1,001 Arabian Nights” (these are universal) – check out either Husayn Hadawy’s or the Penguin one (I think it’s Lyons)
      * Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island”

      These are all simple to read for different reasons.
