(A bit of a long explanation, thank you if you do read)

I grew up reading fantastical fiction novels, and enjoyed writing enough I got a few short stories published through highschool. Quickly fell off when my mental health declined.

I don't read much, or at all anymore. I read No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai when I was in the psych ward, and I enjoyed it a lot. The writing wasn't 'story' driven, it was more like a conversation between an author's more personal character's thoughts and feelings, and the reader. That's it.

I found a poetry book, called A boy without his feathers by Beau Taplin. Its very thin, like a Zine. I've never been much into poetry, never learnt any at school beyond shakespeare. I found the long paragraphs of poetry connecting, I cant describe his writing but I hope you can check it out both to understand my asks of recommendations (and because it's a pleasant read).

It struck me, the mention of scars on arms and wrists casually in not a 'dramatic' way. But an acknowledgement, even a verse being named "Wear those scars on your wrist like a rolex", yet the verse having no descriptors of self harm. Whilst another verse can have a line of reference to scars from that, yet not make the title about it.

It meant a lot as someone with very scarred arms navigating living in the public image looking how I do now. I'd really appreciate recommendations of things written in this sort of feeling.
