Project Hail Mary has easily been my favorite book that I’ve ever read. I’m down to a few chapters left, and I’m already sad that it’s almost over. Where do I go from here?

I saw that the same author also wrote The Martian, and I haven’t read that yet. Would that be a letdown coming from PHM?

My interests are all over the place from The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, To Kill a Mockingbird, 1984, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy to non-fiction books that pique my interest such as Born To Run, The Storyteller, Can’t Hurt Me, etc.

    1. The Martian is not quite as good as Project Hail Mary (imo) but it’s still a damn good read. I’d give it a try if I were you.

    2. The Martian. In my opinion this was better than Project Hail Mary.

I haven’t read it, but I have heard that Three Body Problem is good.

    3. LittlePinkLines on

We Are Legion (We Are Bob)

      Children of Time

Gotta second Dark Matter and Recursion

Also if you like both Andy Weir and Douglas Adams, I’d suggest some John Scalzi – Old Man’s War, Redshirts, Lock-in, Starter Villain

    4. Andy Weir also wrote Artemis which I enjoyed quite a bit, it’s my personal Weir Favourite. It’s a bit of a different vibe though, more of a space heist/ thriller so a lot of people aren’t fans.

    5. The Martian is very good. Also I’d recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl. It was suggested to me after I was having a hard time finding a book I enjoyed as much as Project Hail Mary. Believe it or not, I now like this series even more than PHM. So far there are 7 books, they are funny, well written and easy to read. If you are an audiobook listener this is the best narrator I have ever heard. It has a little bit of Hitchhiker’s guide feel to it as well.
