I just watched the newest Downtown Abby movie and I feel a little cheated that there wasn’t just a smidge more of Thomas and finding love. Any books that are similar to the movie but with the main character being Thomas? (I have read Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue.)

{{Maurice}} by EM Forster is a gay novel set around the same time. A Merchant Ivory film of it was also made.
Slippery Creatures by K.J. Charles (mystery) and A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske (historical fantasy). Not sure if those are exactly what you’re looking for, but they are both m/m romances that take place around the same time as Downton Abbey.
