this got a little long but please bear with me and im very grateful for any and all recommendations 🙂 <3

so I'm a college student with too many courses and have simply been rereading my favorite fanfictions cause they're kind of like soul food, except I feel so guilty for reading them cause
    a) I avoid my course readings (studying drama & gender studies)
    b) I'm not getting any critical thinking skills from them
    c) I end up fixatting on them and stay up too late

and so I'm looking for any books that won't make me feel guilty if that makes sense (I.e. won't give me dopamine rush seeing my fav characters characters, will hold some commentary or keep my brain active, etc.) :')

I'm open to fiction and non-fiction!!

In non-fiction: open to anything written by bipoc authors (please no self-help books and white authors) (no offense intended<3)

In fiction: open to everything (including poems, plays, etc.), not keen on straight romance (open to queer romance where romance is not the focus), preferably something which makes me hate capitalism<3
    thank you so much 🙂
