economics book suggestion
i’m looking for a book recommendation that has the following
* insight into the mechanics of global economics and economic policy and the history about it
* insight into why some countries are rich and poor — how global economics is increasing the gap and how history lead to the outcomes today ? specific focus on china and africa would be good
* doesn’t spend a majority of the book trying to convince the reader of a particular argument or viewpoint; something that is more factual
or even recommendations on a combination of books/textbooks that would answer these questions would be good
i’ve been wondering and reading some things about exchange rate policies, and so would appreciate something that has insight into that as well.
