Not anthropomorhic in an a metaphorical way, like actually the entire inanimate architectural structure becomes cognizant and has human like thoughts, and does something. Anything really, could also make friends with the protagonist. A bit like this art piece by Alex Andreev. (I LINKED IT IN THE COMMENTS SINCE MY POST WAS REMOVED DUE TO PUTTING THE LINK HERE.)

But I would like a giant structure, a huge world war blimp, or an Arabic Palace, or a futuristic spaceship carrying a whole civilzation…. with human emotions and actions. Please tell me I'm not being too delusional about such a genre existing 🙏.

Even better if it's an enigmatic structure like the Hello Neighbour videogame house or St. Basil's Cathedral come to life.

    Thank you 🙏

In Alistair Reynolds Revelation Space series there’s a ship possessed by its captain that has somehow been downloaded. The ship can change shape and talk and fly.

In Eclipse by Ophelia Rue there’s a city where the buildings are grown but have malfunctioned and have twisted and combined into one structure in places. They move and are dangerous. Some residents spliced spider dna to navigate the city better

House of Leaves and Piranesi also have structures that seem to react to people.
