Not like that… I mean books that have joyous endings where the people in love get to stay together and/or everyone gets what they want and the bad guys go down ect. I'm hoping for decent writing too since I just finished a Stephen King so my standards are high. Extra points for anything sci-fi/fantasy.

    1. So I’m not dogging on you I promise, I’m genuinely asking just so I can have a better idea of where you’re coming from. To many people, the below sentence would be contradictory.

I like Stephen King so I swear I’m not being snooty, but rather just getting my bearings a bit. There are valid reasons to criticize King’s technical writing skills, but his ideas and storytelling capabilities are excellent. So with that in mind, by “decent writing,” are you asking about writing which successfully holds or otherwise fully captures your attention, or do you mean writing that is both technically brilliant in addition to being engaging?

    2. Ok so I’m taking the “happy ending” aspect VERY loosely here, but trying to lean into the sci-fi/horror aspect that you seem to enjoy if you like Stephen King.
