Reason: I’m trying to write fiction about a high classed political official who is put under trial for the crime of treason under a corrupt power hungry communist dictatorship/regime. (If you get what I mean). He is sentenced to capital punishment. (Bc he ‘stands in the way of the new government’) it’s more so focused on the trial itself though. (The old government was basically the same thing as the new one)
this is obviously inspired by china and North Korea but anyways
question:
are there any books on this? Especially those where nothing big changes after their execution And everything still sucks or gets more surveillancy. i see a lot of books about successful revolutions and change But I want a book that does this with a high focus on psychology, death and regret(or lack thereof). I really want to ‘get‘ the character And I want to know how it feels to be in such a court. I want books specific to their political climate and the powerlessness and seeming nihilism. Also please, I want stuff that’s pretty down to earth realistic so no dragons or aliens or sci shenanigans.
