Hello,
I am trying to read more non fiction. In the past I have enjoyed books like, Banana: The Fate of the Fruit That Changed the World and Chasing the White Dog: An Amateur Outlaw's Adventures in Moonshine.
Chasing the White Dog was IMO the better of the two. While it taught you a lot the author told stories of what he was doing to reserch the book and it was hilarious.

I just finished Dead Wake, about the sinking of the Lusitania. Excellent.
The Devil’s Picnic by Taras Grescoe is a fun book about “forbidden” or “dangerous” food. I especially enjoyed the cheese chapter.
The Art of Eating by MFK Fisher is a classic, and really engaging.
