Hi all.
I wanted to read something by King and already gave Different Seasons a try. I enjoyed 2 of the 4 stories (Shawshank and the German one) but as that one is a short-story book, I was now inclined to find something a bit more.
However.. I don't really like horror? Can't explain it well I guess, but some of the core elements just don't appeal to me. As an example (I know it's not King's) Piranesi is widely recommended here and by the end I was mostly like "is this it?"
Is Dark Tower saga something good for this occasion? I've seen it while researching on my own alongside stuff like LoTR. Or perhaps 11/22/63 due to its closeness to "reality"?
I reckon this is a weird request so thanks in advance for your help 🙂

Running Man.
Can’t help you, I’m just curious. *Piranesi* is recommended as a horror novel? I definitely believe you that you’ve seen it done before, but that feels like a bit of a mischaracterization of the novel on the part of whoever recommended it as such.
Maybe that’s just me, I dunno.
The first dark tower book is awesome. Short and great. Rest arnt too horror filled. More of a world fallen apart/forgotten. Also maybe the green mile? Or those couple thriller pulp books? Reddit help me out
I loved 11/22/63, it’s definitely my favorite of his.
Joyland, The Eyes of the Dragon, The Body, 11/22/63, Tommyknockers
another vote for 11/22/63. I finished it a few months ago and i am still ruminating on it. So good!
