Used book with some pitting on the cover. Is this spreadable to other books? (i.e. some kind of mold or pest problem?)

Image is in the comments. Just grabbed this book off Thriftbooks. Just wanted to make sure that the damage here isn’t the result of something that can spread to my other books. I don’t see any other evidence of mold or booklice, but I only recently became aware of those potential problems, so I was hoping for some second opinions.
