I was perusing the 'Classics' section of my local bookstore and saw a couple Kurt Vonnegut titles in there. It got me thinking about how, while I don't really consider them "classics," I could definitely see them fitting into a classics sub-genre. What other books would you say fit into this "modern/alt classics" (or whatever you want to call it) genre? I might be overthinking it, but I think of books like Moby Dick, Wuthering Heights, and Pride & Prejudice as classics. Was surprised to see Vonnegut titles in there.
