Before I begin let me state that I am very aware of how ridiculous this sounds and how frustrated I am that I have to resort to searching like this. I have tried AI to no avail 😫
I am searching for a book series that read probably around 2012-2015. I check it out from my local library but have since moved and can’t remember enough meaningful details to search for it online. So here goes.
It was a Christian based trilogy set in the 1800 during the California gold rush. Each book could stand in its own as a solo novel because they were each told through a different person’s perspective, but it was really cool because some of the character overlapped and played a role in each book. So you go to hear how book 1 characters were doing in book 2 because they would be like “oh so and so was at the market today and they’re looking great”
Book 1 was through the eyes of a woman whose husband went to work in a coal mine and she was left to run their home on her own. She got word back that he had died in a mining accident but found out she was pregnant. He actually didn’t die and came back to town to see her pregnant and assumed that she had been unfaithful. But she didn’t recognize him because he had been in n accident but was severely burned, not dead. I can’t remember were all the details but he did eventually reveal himself to her and the story ended on a happy note
I don’t remember anything helpful about book two
Book three was through the eyes of a French woman that came to America funded by her former employer, looking for her father. She was paying a man to help her make the difficult journey west on her search for her father, and even though they couldn’t stand each other at first, they did eventually fall in love. She was a painter and ended up finding her father by recognizing a painting that he had made because he is the one that taught her to paint.
I know how little information this is to go on, but it had been at least 10 years since I’ve read the books so I’m really hoping that someone else has read them and can help me find the title.
And yes I see every single typo that I made but I’m having trouble with my phone and I can’t correct any of them. These fat thumbs can really be a pain.

According to ChatGPT, it’s called California Gold by Stephen Bly. Let me know if that’s the right one.
