I agree with the article that it feels patronizing. A fresh printing of the classics is great, but don’t misrepresent what the stories and characters are like. Maybe the publisher could put some of this focus/money toward amplifying a diverse range of young writers writing for young people- these could be future classics if given the backing of one of the big publishing houses like Penguin.
