Something set in an interesting eerie town which has sm history and perks that almost make it feel like a real character?

I hope my description makes sense – I love horror, thriller and mystery books (but i also love other genres so it doesnt have to be strictly that) and im looking for a book where the town where its set in feels like a characyer almost. For example, I love Six of Sparrow, or the movie Halloweentown&Hocus Pocus
