Hello! This is a pretty specific request. I was raised by an immediate and extended family of purely Christian conservatives and I am an openly atheist progressive lesbian. I’ve been stubbornly out as secular and queer since I was 14 and have had to deal with the bigotry they call politics for a decade now. I’m looking for a book, preferably autobiographical or fictional but based on a real person’s history, that deals with similar experiences—feeling fundamentally wrong but with no language to place why or what to do about it. Added points if the author/main character is a woman and/or queer, but not a requirement. Thank you!
