I love reading and usually read Christian fiction and cozies, especially those with a culinary theme. I especially enjoy books by Irene Hannon, Karen Kingsbury, Joanne Fluke, and Lorna Barrett. I currently feel, however, that I need to expand my horizon and read books from other genres. So I just started reading White Mulberry by Rosa Kwon Easton and am happily enjoying it. I also recently bought The Women by Kristin Hannah. I don't normally read historical fiction, but those two books had good reviews, and they caught my eye. What I am not interested in, however, are steamy romances (I read enough Harlequin romances when I was younger and am so over it.), stories with violence (I used to like Mary Higgins Clark novels, but they got too much for me. It's too bad her daughter stopped writing.), and horror (After I read Amityville Horror, I was so scared, I had to sleep in my parents' bedroom.) Oh, and I am not interested in books dealing with sickness, death, and dying. I worked as a nurse in oncology and chemotherapy. And have immediate family members who have passed on. It still saddens me when I think of them. So let me know if you have a book you would highly recommend. Thanks in advance!

If you’re interested in fantasy at all The Shiver Tree by Holly Searcy came out a couple of months ago and it’s light hearted without being goofy. There might be a hints at romance but nothing that would qualify as “romantacy”
It’s more of a classic fantasy romp for some escapism and a good time.
I like to read new fantasy authors when I can and this one was recommended to me by a friend who got an ARC and I liked it. Reminded me of old school fantasy when it wasn’t just politics or boners all the time.
