Not necessarily something that will make me sob from start to finish but something that will stay with me and possibly change my thinking or teach me about a different culture. The last books to do this were The Chosen and The Promise by Chaim Potok, Small things like these by Claire Keegan, Crying in H mart by Michelle Zauner, anything by Chimimanda Ngozi Adiche. If you’re interesting in nonfiction, Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner is an incredible memoir about losing her mother, and their connection to her Korean culture
Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.
