I've recently watched „You” (the series) and id love to read a book with similar themes. Quite like the ballad of songbirds and snakes? You know, with lots of internal monologues and a pretty rotten sense of morality.
Do you have any suggestions?

The Perfect Girlfriend by Karen Hamilton. Snarky narrator who is fully convinced everything she does is justified. Spoiler alert, it’s not.
My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite. In this case the morally questionable one is the narrator’s sister, but the narrator has her moments too. Quick read, darkly funny.
The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks
American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
A chilling and satirical novel narrated by Patrick Bateman, a wealthy New Yorker who hides his violent impulses behind a polished facade.

Lolita. It doesn’t get more rotten than Humbert Humbert.
Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence if you read fantasy
