I never enjoyed reading in school and always thought it was boring and I couldn’t focus due to my adhd. Now I’m 22 and my wife recently got me to read “Flowers for Algernon” and I couldn’t put it down.
So far, of the few books I’ve read, these are my top three in order.
    1. Flowers for Algernon
    2. Looking for Alaska
    3. Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy

Looking for suggestions. It can be anything but I want something that’ll hook me early and keep my attention. For reference, I couldn’t get into the LOTR books because they’re too slow and descriptive.

    Thanks in advance!!

    1. Hi there, I’m 26 and I grew up a heavy reader (Hitchhiker’s Guide was one of my favorites growing up actually), but I hear a lot of people my age say that they want to get into reading but find it difficult. I started a channel [narrating classic literature and historical documents for free](https://www.youtube.com/@cserilaz). Here’s a [fun space travel story from the 1600’s](https://youtu.be/fOCZPcGBsAM?si=SGL5f8jkaALiJwsj). I’ve also done several by H. G. Wells that you might enjoy: here’s [The Remarkable Case of Davidson’s Eyes](https://youtu.be/Njr8WhE71Bc?si=Wk4ruOVwqPyPZ1kJ) and [The Country of the Blind](https://youtu.be/R6Hq15xcvMI?si=1sMx9KvUZVdBFDsA)
