Suggest me a book that has a tie to Greek Mythology and is appropriate for 6th graders (11-12 years old) but is NOT Percy Jackson because they have all read that one already. Ideally it will have a shortish first chapter – not longer than 10 pages.
I am an English teacher and like to do a First Chapter Friday lottery with the kids. I read the first chapter of a book to each of my classes and they can enter a lottery to win the first check out and I deliver it to them at the end of the day. They just started the Ancient Greece unit in Social Studies so I'd like to try to tie the book to for a nice cross-curricular connection.

I remember my sister reading a book called The Shadow Thieves by Anne Ursu when she was around that age.
