One where a female protagonist is choosing the less beaten path in life, who does not centre her life around men, and where romance is not in the storyline (love fantasy / sci fi but fiction and non fiction welcomed too)

I really want to live a life off the beaten path, and hoping to find inspiration and hope with stories that show that women can live fulfilling lives without men, and with courage and curiosity taking them down interesting paths. Extra points if there's a sense of nature, adventure, fantasy / sci fi elements, but generally open to any genre.
