    1. The books are unfinished and most likely won’t ever be finished. The show is finished, but did so horribly. Take your pick

Both. They are different enough that it makes sense to both read and watch. Each has pros and cons. I like the books more, but you can’t not watch the show, imo

    3. I’m not a huge series book reader. But GOT is one that sucks you in and you won’t want it to stop… but it does… before you get a satisfying conclusion.

    4. I loved the books. There is so much MORE to the stories than what’s inlicded in the TV series. Plus I don’t know how on earth anyone could follow the series if you hadn’t read the books first – I was definitely relying on my knowledge from the books to understand (and explain to others) the show as I watched it.

    5. I’d say start with the books, even though there are two remaining the journey through the books to that point is still worth it.

His characters are hard not to invest in, the setting is grim/realistic (as much as it can be) if a little cynical, and he writes fantasy in a style that rightly garnered him the success he’s realised. It’s fantasy for adults and there’s a lot more going on in the books than they could possibly cover in the show.

I’d then watch the show, it was very good up to the last season. Despite a few missteps. They rushed the last season, but even then there are epic battles and scenes that made it worthwhile. I felt like a lot of people it might have been trying to do too much within too few episodes and some of the characterisation wasn’t consistent in S7. All of the cast were very well cast. Peter Dinklage, Pedro Pascal, Lena Hedley, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, to name but a few, all of them own the roles they took on.

    6. I read the books first and really enjoyed reading but I didn’t finish the 5th book bc honestly they do get boring lol but 1,2 and 3 are great books!! Would recommend reading till you’re bored then watch the show. I liked the extra details the books give that they don’t keep in the show and I feel like reading helped me keep track of all the drama and characters when I finally did watch. The first 3 books had a chokehold on me, they’re very detailed and fast paced with the drama and plots and keeps you on the edge of your seat, never know who is gonna die next
