I decided I want to start reading a book together with my little sister. She doesn’t have many friends and spends most of her free time on her phone. We thought it would be great to read something, discuss our opinions and spend time together making crafts or baking treats based on the book, basically – not looking for quality literary works – just something fun we both would enjoy.

I’m 20 and my little sister is 16. I would appreciate if the book recommendations were age appropriate, she doesn’t really enjoy anything explicit and always skips “spicy” scenes in movies.

I can read anything and enjoy it so the main problem is finding something my sister would like. I suggested fantasy, contemporary and classics – she said no to all.

I know she loves the Hunger Games and Twilight movies. Her “likes” on Letterboxd include Twisters, Gran Turismo, Scream, Mean Girls, Knives Out, The Craft. She’s currently obsessed with “Alice In Borderland”.

Things that come to mind when thinking about what she likes: big cities at night, fast cars, femme fatale aesthetic, french language, moody vibes, summer.

In short, I think she might enjoy something fast-paced and witty with romance elements that don’t overshadow the main story, something not too complex and intellectual but still with substance. Preferably without fantasy elements and set in modern society – not historical.

Please help me out, I don’t really read that much myself so I have no idea.

I have written a few books that may interest you. They are a mix of legal and fantasy.  I take what I am learning in my law classes and transform them into a fantasy world.  I dont add romance though but they are easy and quick reads.
