I'm looking for a very atmospheric book about London, preferably set in modern times (but not necessary).
Some of the examples that i've read already are:

    Terry Pratchett "Dodger"

    Neil Gaiman "Neverwhere"

Susanna Clark "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" (not technically London, but very English book)

And i'm currently reading H. G. Parry "The Magician's Daughter", but there's not a lot of London so far.

Anyway i would appreciate your recommendations. You can also recommend any books about England/Ireland that you like

    Thank you

Here are two atmospheric books set in London that you might enjoy:

      1. [**Rivers of London**](https://amzn.to/3EKMa1F) by Ben Aaronovitch A blend of urban fantasy and detective noir, this novel follows a London cop who gets recruited into a secret branch of the police that deals with supernatural crimes. The city itself feels like a character, with its rich history, magical undercurrents, and detailed descriptions of its streets and culture.
      2. [**The City & The City**](https://amzn.to/4k6052A) by China Miéville While not strictly set in real-world London, this book captures the essence of a divided and surreal city where two different societies coexist in the same physical space. It’s a mind-bending, atmospheric detective story that will appeal to fans of layered, mysterious cityscapes.

I attached the links in the titles above to their Amazon pages for you to check them out. Enjoy!
