I just finished reading the book and i watched the movie, i ugly cried at both! I wasnt expecting a story that deep and that touching, i always heard it refered to as a children’s book. it has very adult themes.
I loved the ending of the movie though, which wasnt in the book. the way the monster was also the mom’sfriend when she was in a little girl 🥹
