Parents in their 70s focussed on elder sister who needs help as she is intellectually challenged. I have no real friends. Work people are conniving aholes. Finding no purpose. I am unable to continuously be motivated at anything. Living alone.

Suggest me a book that can help me.

I have a (only) sibling like that. Make friends, takes effort on our part too, maybe join a book club or something?

As for purpose, we don’t have to have one, enjoy the fact we are here, having life for a short time and try to stop and smell the roses so to speak.

My life has bounced around, good, bad, good, currently near the end and poor now. Looking after that sibling now, being the only one left.

I read a lot of different genres, and some non fiction, it’s one of the joys….books. And my garden.

Are you wanting fiction or non-fiction?
It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

Funny Story is lighter, more comedic, and has young adults in mind,

Woke Up Lonely by Fiona Maazel

Janet Frame’s three autobiographies, To the Is-Land , An Angel at My Table , and The Envoy from Mirror City .

Or: The Seas by Samantha Hunt

This short novel is filled with sadness and longing and mermaids. The ocean is bigger than all of our individual problems.
