Often one may like particular poems of particular poets but not all of them may be to one's taste. I have often experienced that buying specific poet book, containing 50 or 100 poems doesn't work for me . Often only a few are to my taste and I prefer poetry from different poets that I like. Perhaps only exception to this has been Mary Oliver. Can you please suggest poetry books that contain poetry from different poets – classic and contemporary? Which are your favorites ? Poetry I love is about nature, human emotions, poetry that makes one feel the emotions that the poet wants to convey, poetry that paints a picture in words of what poet wants to convey , poems of wisdom and insights, poems that make one lost in the poem etc. Would prefer a wide selection of poems from across the world instead if just one region. Many thanks

Here are two great poetry collections that feature works from multiple poets, blending both classic and contemporary voices:
1. [**Poems That Make Grown Men Cry: 100 Men on the Words That Move Them**](https://amzn.to/3QopA1f) edited by Anthony and Ben Holden This collection brings together emotionally powerful poems chosen by well-known men, from actors to writers, showcasing works that deeply moved them. It includes a diverse range of poets and themes, making it a compelling and varied read.
2. [**The Penguin Anthology of Twentieth-Century American Poetry**](https://amzn.to/3CXmq1m) edited by Rita Dove A well-curated anthology that presents some of the most influential American poets of the past century. It covers themes of nature, human emotions, and deep insights into life, making it a fantastic pick for readers who enjoy a wide variety of poetic voices.
I attached the links in the titles above to their Amazon pages for you to check them out. Enjoy!
So you’re looking for really good poetry anthologies/collections? I have a couple for you:
* **Set Me On Fire: A Poem For Every Feeling** by Ella Risbridger – super cool collection that is sorted by the emotions it will make you feel
* **Poetry Unbound** by Padraig O Tuama – a really great collection, paired with commentary
* **How a Poem Moves: A Field Guide for Readers of Poetry -** this was a required textbook for a poetry class I took in University and it was soooooo good. Although it’s paired with short essays, it really refreshed my love for poetry and made me appreciate the poems even more. And it’s great if you’re interested in writing your own poems / understanding how poetry works
Hope this helps and is what you’re looking for!!
I had to buy The Norton Anthology of Poetry when I was at university. It seemed like a big outlay on cost back then, but I still pick it up off the shelf every couple of months more than 15 years down the line.
Immortal Poems of the English Language, edited by Oscar Williams.
