I have an old school buddy who's got his professional job since graduating college, and although he's sharp he's getting destroyed for being blunt and really not getting how to navigate office politics.
He's the technical expert where he's at surrounded by managers. He keeps getting into technical disputes with them where he's right, but it doesn't matter since he's rubbing people wrong, and some of these people are bored enough to focus on making his life a living hell. I don't even think he's being overly harsh, just too blunt for non technical folks on what is possible on projects.
I've learned how to navigate office politics and navigate difficult coworkers, but are there any good books on it besides the generic self improvement books?
