Either I'm way too picky when it comes to fantasy or its easier to not like fantasy comapred to other genres. I find myself finishing an "okay, not bad" sci-fi/mystery book, but can't finish a fantasy if its even a little boring.
Here are some I liked
- Bloodsworn Saga (and other series by this author) – Like it because of Orka and the audiobook narrator
- Leech by Hiron Ennes
- Ketty Jay series – Liked it for the crew and the cat and the audiobook narrator
- The Tainted Cup – unique world + mystery
- The Final Empire
Some I didn't like
- Godkiller by Hannah Kanner
- Kingdom of Liars by Nick Martell
- The Way of Kings – hated this one. Don't want to pick this author again
- Tried some LitRpgs – I haven't liked books that are primarily LitRpg, but I think I'm open to try a book with minor LitRpg elements or it being some plot device rather than it being the whole focus
Help me find good Adult fantasy books with greater focus on plot than characters, unique world, mystery or thriller element. I prefer a book that was published in last 10 years, because my library wouldn't purchase any books older than that

whoa > 10years? > fat chance – most good fantasy is way old
you need a better library – try [Anna’s Archive](https://annas-archive.org/)

Really? OK
Try Simon R Green, Ursula LeGuin, Terry Brooks, Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Charles Stross.
