I turn 30 next week! Looking for one more book to say goodbye to my 20s with. I am a voracious reader and love things of all stripes.
What am I looking for? Good question.
Part of me wants something great and moving with characters that I know will make me cry (Terms of Endearment is an all-timer for me).
Part of me wants something fantastical that will make me excited for future adventures ahead and thankful for adventures past (I reread The Hobbit yesterday for like the 80th time. Suttree has a special hold on my heart).
Part of me wants something challenging that could capstone a good decade of reading (not to be "that guy" but I worked through all of Joyce, Gaddis, Pynchon, and Foster Wallace the past couple years and love all their works deeply).
Am I helping my own cause? Am I making sense? Doesn't matter. I don't have to answer questions like that during my birthday week.

The Da Vinci code. For shits and giggles
I’m always suggesting *A Moveable Feast* because there are so many reasons to read it. It’s not complex, it isn’t a tearjerker, it’s not fantastical, but for me it’s about fully living life. Soaking it up and appreciating every moment. It’s a book that helps me reflect on myself and my life, where I’ve been and where I want to go, and *how* I want to live. You could probably finish it in a day given your reading history, so if you don’t like it (although I’d be surprised if you haven’t read it already being so well read), you can always pick something else up to end your 20s on.
