A friend wants to reduce screen time a lot but absolutely loves crime movies and series. I thought she probably appreciates gripping crime novels as a replacement.
I unfortunately don't know much about crime, nor about her favourite aspects of crime, but she both mentions true crime and fictional stuff. She is also interested from a psychological/criminological viewpoint, but since it should replace digital entertainment I doubt that non-fiction would fit.
Do you have absolute favourites, that are thrilling, intelligent and pleasant to read?
Edit: She really doesn't like unrealistic, supernatural or unlogical things in stories.
