Appalachian or Slavic fantasy/folklore/otherwordly feel/really good fiction books?

One or the other, but if you've got one that somehow has both I will marry you.

I really loved Thistlefoot and Compound Fracture – anyone have any fantasy/folklore-y/really good Appalachian or Slavic books they'd recommend?
