Hi, I'm currently writing a book. Or attempting to write one. And I'm supremely stuck and need to find like ANY books that are sorta like mine to sort of fill the creative well that has clearly run dry. So here's a summery:
A couple military vets and a teenage girl find out her boyfriend has superpowers and try to protect him from the jerks who gave him superpowers.
Basically there's superpowers (namely, shape shifting) human experimentation, brainwashing that ranges somewhere between BioShock's would you kindly, and the winter soldier (can't decide which one I want to go for) loss of identity, a military spec fic setting, and a villain kinda like full metal alchemist's Kimbly (cold and menacing with zero morals who can imply he'll kill the people you care about just by inviting said romantic interest over for tea while being nothing but polite) but with Voldemort's reputation. Oh and it's aimed at collage age, but I wouldn't say no to YA or older novels.
Its a bit of a grab bag of tropes, I know. But if this kinda makes you think of any good recommendations I'd really appreciate it.
My only extra request is that there's no sex scenes. I will immediately put the book down if it starts getting gross. As little romance as possible actually, unless it's like really compelling.
