I am all for judging books by their covers, especially when it’s clear the designer (and publishers) get the book their are publishing. This one jumped out at me from the shelves of a forgotten book shop and served as my intro to Stephen Dixon, a writer who feels like both a master of fiction and something of a secret. This is about brothers, aging, death, grief and living—it’s inventive, funny, and wonderfully written.
