Need a new book for me kindle to read whilst on long night shifts!

Something like Andy Weirs – The Martian / Project Hail Mary – would be great?

But anything that's gripping/funny/sci/fi/fantasy will usually be good to me!

I've read most big named fantasy series/trilogys. Hunger games, maze runners etc. Also read some Stephen Kings, 11,22,63, The Institute, The Stand etc.

    1. These first three are by John Scalzi:

**Starter Villain** is the most entertaining book I’ve read recently. It’s a spoof of the early James Bond movies. A substitute teacher inherits his estranged uncle’s villainy which comes complete with a secret volcanic lair.

**The Kaiju Preservation Society** is … sci-fi fun and Bond-like.

**Redshirts** is a satirical look at space operas from the point-of-view of ‘expendable’ crew.

Yahtzee Croshaw’s **Will Save the Galaxy For Food** follows a space pilot scrounging a living after being put out of work by technology advances. The protagonist is a mashup of Han Solo and Crocodile Dundee.

Then there’s **The EOM Expression** sci-fi by DPForesi, that I’m currently reading for the third time.

It’s about 1,300 pages (if I remember correctly). It’s core concept has a large group of people leave the solar system to establish their own form of laissez-faire government only to face an attempt to coerce them back under control.

The author puts forth some intriguing technology concepts and the technicals (scene depiction, word choice, sentence structure) of his writing are very good. The story itself is long and contains some “dream” sequences and other author-choices that didn’t strike a chord with my personal tastes. Following along at the beginning was a little difficult, but sooner AND later everything came together.

Its one BIG flaw, though, is it sorely needs copy editing. There are a lot of typos, a few missing words, and some serious punctuation problems that threw me out of the immersion.

If you like horror this is a crazy book! Serial Killer Shermen The Sadistic By Burton Mobley. It was so good! If you like romance i suggest Willow & The Rose By Burton Mobley. It was so good! Hes my favorite auther. Both are on Amazon and If you have kindle Unlimited its free.

    3. You’ve probably read it, but it’s fantastic so just in case you haven’t – have you the Expeditionary Force novels by Craig Alanson? ScI/Fi adventure and they’re a ton of fun while keeping the stakes up.

Have you read The Expanse series by James SA Corey. It was an incredible ride and it’s a complete series which I always prefer.
