I used to love old school King, but he lost me on some of his newer works, so I mostly stopped reading his stuff. I think the last book of his I read was 11/22/63. I enjoyed it, but that came out a while ago at this point. What are some of his more recent works that I should check out that I’m missing out on?

I just cannot keep up with him! There are so many of his books I have never read. For his newer books, the newest one I read was You Like it Darker — it was not my favourite (many people are going to disagree with me).
Aside from You Like it Darker and Later, the newer ones I read were The Institute and The Oitsider — I really enjoyed both.
His new stuff is good, but has some stuff that is somewhat divisive among fans (for example, not everyone loved Holly Gibney and she’s about to get a SEVENTH book. The order for her goes Mr Mercedes, Finder’s Keepers, End of Watch, The Outsider, If It Bleeds, Holly, and the upcoming Never Flinch).
Sometime in the past decade or so he developed a interest in writing crime stories, too.
His current newest, You Like it Darker is pretty decent short story collection (though it largely lacks horror).
I think he still “has it”. I’m particularly pleased with his Holly character that has been a focus for a few books now. She is compelling and fun. If you are interested in giving King another try tho I’d say his recent short story collection, “You Like It Darker”, is the way to go. Nice mix of old and new.
I can’t read his books at all. The wordy style just doesn’t vibe for me, I can’t handle it. Eventually I accepted he’s not my kind of author & moved on. It’s all a matter of spectrum & preference.
Hasn’t he always been an extremely prolific author with many misses but some excellent great hits?
His new stuff is good just wish he’d leave out the unnecessary political bs for both sides
These days? Dude has always been a churn machine…
