Particularly at night, I think a lot about death and how scary it is; the thought can keep me up for hours. A few months ago I started reading before bed to try to clear my mind of those thoughts (and because I wanted to start reading more). The first book I read worked great for that, while the book I just finished almost made it worse because it was based in the early-mid 20th century and I couldn't stop thinking about how everyone in it is dead now. Those were both non-fiction sort of self-help books, but I'm interested in finding a sort of "high on life" feel-good story, fiction or non fiction.
