So I read a lot of dark/grimdark fantasy and it can get pretty heavy but my goodness do I love it. Still I need a good palate cleanser every now and again and I’m a sucker for romance so I’ve been getting into it for the past year or so. So far the books I’ve read that I’ve absolutely loved have been multiple Elle Kennedy books and my all time favorite Emily Henry. My favorite romance book I’ve read and honestly one of my all time favorite books is people we meet on vacation. I love the dialogue between the characters and the fact that the FMC poppy was able to admit her wrongs and work through them was amazing! I’ve since read almost all of Emily Henry’s books and am looking for some great recommendations based off this. It can be spicy or not but I don’t like YA and don’t like romantasy. I like sad romance as well and like when the characters have some sort of trauma. Now I’m not looking to get into debates and whatever anyone believes is up to them and I respect that but I don’t want a book that’s “woke” and it seems especially in the romance genre it can get pretty political at times so I’m looking for something more focused on the characters and their love story!
